Happy New Year!

Here we are, just after the first week of January and Phoenix is experiencing record breaking "heat" for this time of the year.

Oh sure, those of you in the snow and ice and cold would think that days in the high 70s/low 80s would be just delightful ...

... but for us native Phoenicians these temperatures are too warm and too dry.

I personally love the desert southwest's winter days in the low 50s and nights in the high 30s/low 40s. It kills off the flying bugs and creepie crawlies ... and fercrimineesakes, allows us to dress in "nice" clothes like suits and sweaters.

I saw a client last week and we both were dressed in summer casual wear. Yuk.

We are on "rain watch":

We have had no rain for 80+ days and things around here are dry, dry, dry.

I watch the news coverage of the fires in Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico ... now Colorado and even one here yesterday in west Phoenix ... and I worry. Phoenix is a tinderbox with trouble just waiting to happen.

I pray for rain.
